- Muitos protestantes acreditam que somos salvos pela fé individual e eles dizem que os católicos acreditam que podem “trabalhar” o seu caminho para o céu. Como você responde a isso?
A Igreja Católica agora, nem nunca, ensinou a Doutrina da Salvação através de “trabalhos…que nós podemos “trabalhar” nosso caminho para o Céu. Adicionalmente, nenhum lugar na Bíblia ensina que somos salvos pela “fé solitária.”O único local em toda a Escritura onde é dita a frase ” Fé solitária” aparece é em Tiago 2:24, em que é dito que nós não somos justificados (ou salvos) pela fé solitária.A Bíblia diz claramente que nó não somos salvos pela fé solitária. Trabalhos tem alguma coisa a ver como nossa salvação. Muitas passagens no Novo Testamento que eu saiba sobre Julgamento diz que nós vamos ser julgados por nossos trabalhos,não por se temos ou não fé solitária. Nós vemos isso em Romanos 2, Mateus 15 e 16, 1 Pedro 1, Apocalipse 20 e 22, 2 Coríntios 5, e muitos, muitos outros versículos. Se nós somos salvos pela fé solitária, porque 1 Coríntios 13:13 diz que o amor é melhor do que fé? Isso não deveria ser ao contrário? Como Católicos nós cremos que somos salvos pela Graça de Deus. Nós não podemos fazer nada, aparte da Graça de Deus, para receber o presente grátis de Salvação. Nós também acreditamos, contudo, que nós temos que responder a graça de Deus. Protestantes acreditam nisso também. Porém, muitos Protestantes acreditam que a única resposta necessária é alguma ação de fé; enquanto que, Católicos acreditam que a resposta de fé e trabalhos sejam necessários…ou, como a Bíblia coloca em Gálatas 5:6, “Porque em Jesus Cristo nem a circuncisão tem valor algum , mas a fé que atua pelo amor…”assim como a Igreja ensina.
- Como eu (um Católico) deveria responder a alguém que pergunta se eu fui salvo ou se nasci de novo?
Responda com um sonoro, “Sim!” Diga a eles que através do Batismo somos salvos, como a Bíblia diz em 1 Pedro 3:20-21 e que é através do Batismo, água e Espírito, que você está “nascido de novo,” como a Bíblia diz em João 3:5. Você vê, muitos Protestantes acreditam que nós somos salvos fazendo um único ato de fé em um único ponto no tempo em suas vidas. Em nenhum lugar a Escritura diz algo assim. como Católicos, contudo, nós acreditamos que a salvação é um processo o qual começa com o nosso batismo e continua ao longo de nossas vidas, assim como a Bíblia nos ensina. Existem vários lugares na Escritura, a qual fala sobre como um é “salvo”, mas não um deles diz que somos salvos por um ato de fé em um só ponto no tempo. Assim como eu mencionei, 1 Pedro 3:20 diz que somos salvos pelo Batismo. Em Hebreus 12:14 é dito que nós não vamos ver o Senhor a não ser que sejamos santos, e que nós temos que nos esforçar para essa santidade. Em Mateus 6:14-15, é dito que nós devemos perdoar os outros ou nós não iremos ser perdoados. Você pode alcançar a salvação , se Deus não o perdoou? Não! Então, nosso ato de perdoar os outros é necessário para a nossa salvação. 1 Tim 2:15 diz que mulheres serão salvas por suas crianças, se ela continuar na fé, amor e santidade com modéstia . João 6:54 diz que nós iremos ter a vida eterna por fazermos algo…comendo a carne e tomando o sangue do nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo. Em Mateus 19, versículos 16 e 17, Jesus é perguntado diretamente o que um deve fazer para ter a vida eterna. Ele disse, aceite-me em seu coração e é isso? Não! Jesus disse para continuar os mandamentos e ele terá vida. Sim, como Católicos nós nascemos de novo. E, como católicos nós acreditamos que nós fomos salvos, como Paulo diz em Rom 8:24; que nós estamos sendo salvos, como Paulo diz em 1 Cor 1:18; e que nós seremos salvos, como Paulo diz em Rom 5:9-10, desde que perseveremos e mantemos nossos olhos no prêmio. Salvação é um processo, assim como Católicos acreditam, e como a Bíblia claramente ensina.
